They Don’t Call it “The Bash” for Nothing!

It was pretty chaotic when we first rounded the Arches at Cabo and the gusts and water pounded us in the face, but we got into the groove and we did it!!! We left Cabo San Lucas around 6:30 PM last night and sometime between then and 1 AM we successfully cleared Cabo Falso. It was just as everyone warned, 30 knot winds, fast moving 2+ meter waves, right on the nose, for hours. Only saw two other boats out there, a well powered mega yacht and a cruise ship, which we radioed, as we were on a direct collision course. (Thanks UB for keeping an eye out).
So we are officially on our way home to San Diego. We’re expecting 10-15 days of pounding, but have gotten off to a great start. The winds have settled down to around 12 knots, waves have mellowed, and we’ve had an almost full moon all night. Now for another two days of ups and downs before we reach Magdelena Bay!
